The signature of the attached remote does not match

Since EZ-RC has closed down, JP1 is your only option to get these remotes upgrades. We will (eventually) support all remotes formerly supported by EZ-RC, including the Moster Revolution 200.

The signature of the attached remote does not match

Post by rsbrux »

I made some minor modifications to an RMIR file for my ARRX18G (OFA 8603), but when I tried to upload the changed configuration, I got the message "The signature of the attached remote does not match the signature you are trying to upload. The image you are trying to upload may not be compatible with the attached remote, and uploading it may damage the remote." with the additional explanation, "This message will be displayed when installing an extender in your remote, which is the only time it is safe to upload to a remote when the signatures do not match."
AFAIK, I am not installing an extender, so I didn't dare to upload the modified configuration. The original configuration came from an XSight Touch. Could that be responsible for this message?
Instead I downloaded the existing configuration from the remote, modified that and uploaded it. This seems to have worked, but I am still curious about the scary message.
Any clues?

You got the message because you were trying to load the image from a different remote.

Valid warning as Rob said, but harmless in your case. Any Xsight Touch or Color file works fine on any AR 15G or 18G and vice versa.

Is this also true for Nevo C2 and C3?

Can AR 15 G, AR 18 G, Xsight Color or Xsight Touch RMIR files also be installed without ill effect on Nevo C2 or C3?

Yes, these are all mutually compatible.
