Hi,

I am currently a Slingbox user in America. However, I setup the box in Thailand, hoping to watch Thai TV. The slingbox company did not make the specific code for Thailand though.

Currently, I don't have any problem watching the TV. However, I cannot control the remote. The box that the cable company in Thailand is using is Sunmoonstar ABS 8976. Can anyone help me with this issue?

Somebody would need to get their hands on a Sunmoonstar remote to capture the signals in order to create an upgrade for your Slingbox. Alternatively, you could try contacting SMS yourself to see if they are willing to give the remote codes to you. If they do, post the file and we'll try to decode it.

I have contacted the company, but they are not willing to give away the code. Would you mind giving me the procedure on how to capture the signal from the remote?

Do you have a learning remote, such as a JP1 learning remote or a Philips Pronto? If you do, I'll give you the procedure. If you don't, your only other option is to send your remote to someone that does.
