Hello all.
I used the build-in setup code VCR-1060 and this code seems to work in my old RS 15-2117 without having to do anything...

EXCEPT...I also have a set-top box (which I HAVE codes for).

so I wanted to use that for my setup code..and just create a few keymoves for the power, volume, and VCR commands...

so...I used the KM...and found the RCA COMBO info...prot: 01 14..
(and even the RCA COMBO (2)...shows the same EFC codes)

but here is the rub...when I tested it by pressing setup-0-9-9
(on vcr-1060 setup code) nothing happened.
(this is the power code according to the KM notes)...

I think it has something to do with the fact these are 5 digit EFC's...

just very odd that the 'built in' codes work..but I cant seem to re-produce it myself..

Can someone point me to what I might try next?

I was thinking about trying this next:

...use the remote to 'map' the power key to another setup code..then download the remote data. Wouldn't that show me the created keymove?
I just need to figure out the EFC data.

Pat thank you for posting that the lookup tool was down. That was the first I had heard of it, and apparently it has been down for a month!

VCR 1060 uses a RCA Combo protocol that requires 5 digit EFC's and your remote only can process 3 digit EFCs.

For some reason the RCA Combo loses all the OBCs when you change from a 5 digit EFC type remote, to a 3 digit EFC type remote, so you'll need to do some extra copy and pasting.

Open a remotemaster session that uses a remote that has 5 digit EFC's (like an atlas 3033) and dump in the 5 digit EFCs from the lookup tool. It will give you a device and obc combo that you can use to paste into a different Remote master session for the 15-2117.

Then you can do Hex style keymoves.

Again thanks for the notification on the lookup tool. It was totally off my radar.

thank you
