I am creating a new remote for box that is not in the market. i am using slingbox 500 with HDMI connection to the box. I have the customer code 0x9A65 i converted that to 89,166 device and subdevice number. And i have Data Code's 0x15,0x58 where i converted to decimal 21,88 and like wise. Now i created a new remote Slingbox with UEI PL chip with settings as

Setup Code : 2010
Protocol : NEC1
Device : 89
Sub Device : 166

Then i added the decimal values in place of OBC in funtion list exported the binary file and placed in slingbox and its not working. what wrong am i doing.

Thanks

I think we would need to see the complete set of codes that you have for this device in order to guess if you have converted the hex to decimal correctly.

When I try converting the data, I get 89 and 166 for the device codes and 168 and 26 for the OBCs

I see what you did, you correctly treated the device code hex as LSB, but then you treated the OBC hex as MSB.

Here is an RM file that you should be able to use to create a Slingbox bin file

Depending on how they reversed the bits (all 16, each byte piecewise, or if they swapped bytes) the reasonable dev.sub pairs are:

154.101 (as listed)
166.89 (16 bit reversal)
89.166 (reverse each byte)
101.154 (swapped bytes)

When testing pay particular attention to the Home function and the digit 1. These two OBCs have the same form if the bits are reversed.

Is it worth $17 to you to help get this programmed? (And you get a cool new remote in the process)

If so, buy one of these ...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/322044831124

It's the Nevo C2 remote, which is JP1 compatible and comes with it's own USB cable that can be used for JP1 purposes.

With this remote you can learn the buttons from the original remote and then post the results for us, and we can use them to make a new bin file.

The Nevo is a learning remote that is JP1 compatible, which means you can use JP1 (specifically, a program called RMIR) to download the remote's memory and edit it and re-load it. So, it's actually a very powerful remote when combined with JP1.

But, all we need it for here is, if you learn the buttons from your current working OEM remote, you can download the memory (which will include the learned signals) using RMIR and then you can save the file. If you then post the file for us to look at, we can create a Slingbox file for you. At that point, you could put the Nevo in a drawer never to be seen again, if you like, as it would have served its purpose, or you could start to discover JP1 and program it to work your stuff. In which case, maybe we'll see you in some of the other forums here as you seek help with it.
