Sorry. You're right. My bad. I just like to give a guy the benefit of the doubt.

I've come to Richard's defence many times myself, and there's usually been one reason or another as to why he might be behind on his orders (a change in job, illness in the family, etc) but I think the fact that the problem with slow delivery persists means the overall problem is something bigger than whatever the current problem might be.

I joined the Original JP1 Yahoo group something over 3 years ago...maybe 4. I remember that Richard has been around as long as I can remember, supporting the JP1 community. I too would like to give him the "benefit of the doubt". Having just gone through this mess personally, that is hard to do.
I sincerely hope that he gets things together as far as his cable sales endeavor is concerned. Until he demonstrates that he can do that, I think "caveat emptor"/"buyer beware" should be the operative terms in dealing with him.
I only came here to share my experience so that it might be of use to anyone thinking of dealing with him in the future.
It does seem that if one is not in a hurry, and posses a great deal of patience, and does not mind being ignored, eventually the promised product is delivered.
The problem is, that is a whole bunch of qualifiers to deal with.
Order your cables from Rob!

As to caveats, Rob only sells cables as an add-on to an order for one or more remotes. He does NOT sell them individually.

I previously had ordered cables from filebug but since he no longer sells cables had to look for someone else. I recall Hovis had communication issues, so I went with diygadget.com Email response and order status was excellent. Product was shipped out the next day and I was informed where things stood the whole time.
The only slightly negative comment is Canada Post is not the fastest of delivery mechanisms. The order was shipped next day, but it took Canada Post 10 days to get me the cable. I expected slower delivery because of the origin and diygadget clearly states the delivery times. I wasn't in a rush so no big deal, and diygadget.com was very responsive so I was never worried.
The cable arrived in perfect condition and works fine.

Ordered mine at night in Scotland (probably about 3pm Canada), it arrived 5 days later and only cost US$3 extra.

It looks like he let his domain expire, which is a risky thing to do.

Richard just told me that he's going to wrap up his JP1 sales as a new job means that he doesn't have the time to keep up with it.

I hope when he wraps up, he returns the money I sent him back in March for an order he never shipped.

He is going to ship all of the orders that he had already received, he's just not accepting any new orders.

If Richard's not answering his emails, my advice would be to ask Paypal to reverse the transaction.
