Oh I didn't see 3Fg's post the first time around. I DID write and test the protocol in both S3f80 and HCS08 before I posted the upgrade as a finished produdt. They are NOT the same. I haven't decoded and read it, but I seriously doubt that it has the "with hold" feature, and just from a quick glance they don't even have the same timings.

If I recall correctly, this signal decoded as a Kathrein, but wasn't a katherin. It was kathrein like.

Problem 2

When testing, I had applied the PS function to the "OnDemand" physical button, but it was a no go. On my remote, if a key sends out a signal, then it lights up the corresponding device button. When I was using the test upgrade I noticed that the DVD device button was not even lighting up when I pressed the OnDemand button, as if it wasn't even sending out a signal.
If nothing is lighting says to me that you might have a problem with the protocol.
Did you erase everything having to do with that first upgrade that you tried where you tried to pull in a RMIR file but chose the wrong remote?
Othewise you might be still be trying to execute HCS08 code in an S3F80 remote, which could cause you all sorts of trouble.

If the other keys are lighting the device button, then I'm off base here and its some other kind of problem. It could be that the OnDemand button isn't in the current device group in the extender.

We really need to see your RMIR file to see what is going on here. I strongly suspect we still have a problem with that HCS08 code remaining in the E2 area. Or it could be a device selection problem from the extender.

I re-downloaded the "PS3 with Hold" device upgrade, just to make sure I hadn't messed with it. Re-imported into my remote config with URC 1067.

Am I doing something wrong because I'm still getting the error message after adding the PS3 Harmony Bluetooth Adapter with Hold upgrade and selecting the Comcast-URC-1067 from the drop down choices.

There are two files in the Misc section related to the the PS3, both submitted by you.
PS3_Harmony_Bluetooth_Adaptor contains a S3C80 executor, but it doesn't match either executor shown in your last post.
PS3 Harmony Bluetooth Adapter with Hold has only a HSC08 executor. I wonder if your computer has a different version of the "with Hold" upgrade?

You can just open the upgrade file with a text editor and see which executors are included. I think that's quicker and more definite than trying it in RMIR.

Oh, I can tell you that only the (HCS08) protocol code is listed within the upgrade. And I believe that was indicated on one my earlier posts.

Apparently I do have a different file with the upgrade, but where I found it I have absolutely NO IDEA. I just opened both the PS3 text files I have on my computer and neither have the S3C8 version. And yet I have an RM file open with the upgrade and it says ps3 Bluetooth with var Hold in the description.

Before I lose it, I've saved it and posted it in the file section.

I am now totally confused, have no idea where it came from, and don't trust the protocol. It doesn't look like its correct and I think perhaps I have discovered one of those "remembering" bugs in RM. I will try and find out when I did this, and then find the computer that I did the kathrein work on. I KNOW I did do both versions of the protocol. As Gamegod did see that the earlier test version worked when I did the plain version.

I'll see if I can locate the proper files for you.

Is the new file that you uploaded supposed to be different from the other device upgrade? I just downloaded the new upgrade (with two different browsers) and compared it with the original (non-working) device upgrade and they are exactly the same.

Okay, I've finally tracked down most of this and found most of the stuff we are looking for.

ps3_Bluetooth_Adapter should have the Hold feature talked about in this thread. If you HOLD the button assigned to the PS3 you should be able to turn the unit off.

the ps3_bluetooth_Adapter_with_ hold, was a special upgrade that was created for some user, somewhere to allow the power button to be used in a macro, and also to make it so that the "Long PS" would automatically start repeating and repeat for a minimum of 10 frames so the unit would shut down from a macro or if the user even tapped the button.

I can't find any notes on this ever being tested, or why it was written can't find a thread or a PM on the subject. Anyway I finally trudged my way through all the files on my "winter" computer and found my working notes on the protocol.

So while you are waiting for the S3C8+ version of the with hold I want you to know that you should be able to turn the unit on and off with a long key press of the key that you assigned the PS3 for.

To shutdown the PS3, with the regular PS3 controller, you have to hold down the PS button to bring up a system menu and then select "shutdown system" from that menu. If you press the PS button on the controller, but don't hold it down, the PS3 displays the controller number and the battery charge level.

I've assigned the PS button from the device upgrade to the physical OnDemand button on my remote. No matter how long I hold down the OnDemand button the PS3 only shows me the battery charge + controller number. It does not bring up the system menu. I believe that's why the other user wanted the special long hold version of the PS key as a separate function in the device upgrade.

Please let me know if I'm doing something wrong that's preventing the shutdown sequence from working.

I've assigned the PS button from the device upgrade to the physical OnDemand button on my remote. No matter how long I hold down the OnDemand button the PS3 only shows me the battery charge + controller number. It does not bring up the system menu. I believe that's why the other user wanted the special long hold version of the PS key as a separate function in the device upgrade.

Well perhaps this version is broken too. While I'm working on the var Hold, you could whip out a digital camera (the one on your cell phone will do) and check to see if the OnDemand is sending out a repeat while you hold it down. It should start after a half second or so of holding the OnDemand button.

Edit: Never mind, the repeat on this isn't working either, so I'm going to sort through those files on my machine too, because I've got a different protocol for that on my machine.

I tried this one out, repeat works, the system menu comes up, but the delay is pretty large. I had to hold the key down for at least a couple of seconds before the repeat kicked in.
