AUX, TV and SAT are device buttons, when you create a device upgrade you need to select a device mode, that's what I was referring to.

I populated all buttons and all seem to operate correctly except the colors. I also filled only just the colored and phantom but none worked. I reset the remote with 9-8-1 and saved the rmir if this is what im understanding you wanted. The colored buttons respond after a reset.

I don't see any upgrades in this RMIR file.jackching wrote:I populated all buttons and all seem to operate correctly except the colors. At this point I think I'd need to have the remote in my hand in order to finish it by programming an upgrade using Cable device mode with all the buttons programmed. If it's worth $12 USD to you, you could buy a remote for me.

Could you program the Up/Down/Left/Right arrow buttons to the 4 colored buttons, then test them when your Roku is on a menu screen.

They work perfect! Just had to be in cable mode I guess. In the other modes I was using, they act as though they are turned off.The Robman wrote:Could you program the Up/Down/Left/Right arrow buttons to the 4 colored buttons, then test them when your Roku is on a menu screen.
Is there any chance this remote doesn't support macros? Any time i assign a macro to a button using remote master, it just turns the tv off. Also the 995 command doesn't work. the reason for these colored buttons are for my discrete inputs. I would like to be able to create a macro on the colored buttons where i choose the input then the device button that operates the device on that input. Can discretes be assigned to phantom buttons then create macros on an actual button using those phantoms?

This remote has 4 device modes:
All the other device modes that you see in RMIR fall back to one of the 4 modes above.
From the user manual...
USING THE MASTER POWER KEY
The Shaw Direct IRC600 and URC600 Remote Controls have a unique feature that allows you to sequentially turn up to three of your home entertainment devices on or off with a single key press.
NOTE: The MASTER POWER (Power) default setting is the SAT mode. If it is not programmed, only the Satellite receiver and TV will turn on or off. In the AUX or TV mode, pressing the Power key will only turn on or off the selected device.
PROGRAMMING THE MASTER POWER KEY
1. Press and hold SAT until the Red Light blinks at least twice, then release SAT.
2. Enter in 9 - 9 - 5 The Red Light will blink twice.
3. Press and release each mode key once in the order that you want them in the Master Power sequence.
4. Press and release the Power key (The red light under SAT will flash twice).
USING THE MASTER POWER KEY
After Programming, point the remote control at your devices and press and hold the POWER key for 1.5 seconds
Removing the Master Power Key
1. Press and hold SAT until the Red Light blinks twice, then release SAT.
2. Enter in 9 - 9 - 5 The Red Light will blink twice.
3. Press and release the Power key (The red light under SAT will flash twice).
- Cable
- TV
- Video
- Audio
All the other device modes that you see in RMIR fall back to one of the 4 modes above.
- TV = TV
- Video = DVD,Laserdisc,DAT,VCR
- Audio = CD,Tuner,Home Auto,Misc Audio,Phono,Amp,Tape
- Cable = Cable,Video Acc, SAT

I would conclude then that the "Power Master" is the only type of macro that it supports. If you're willing, try following the instructions in the manual to program the various flavors of power master macro to see how they are represented in RMIR and, if necessary, we may need to tweak RMIR to display them correctly.

When you program a power master, you only need to include the device buttons, but when the macro itself plays, it sends the POWER button for each selected device button. When you say it appears correct in RMIR, do you just see the device buttons or do you see the POWER buttons also?
If it's the latter, have you tried editing a power master macro to add in some other buttons?

In the Macros tab, under the Key Column it shows Power. Under the Macro Keys column it shows AUX;TV which is what I set it to.The Robman wrote:When you program a power master, you only need to include the device buttons, but when the macro itself plays, it sends the POWER button for each selected device button. OK say if i delete the "Power Master" macro and try to add my own macro, the macro button just becomes unresponsive. If i leave the "Power Master" macro there and add a new macro, the new macro button will power off the device.

All I can suggest is that you experiment with the macros to see if you can make them do anything more than just execute the POWER button. If can't find any backdoor tricks to get a macro to work, then that's all she wrote.
You could, of course, program something ELSE to the power button, because the remote won't know it's not really the power function, then it'll execute that function in the macro. You could program the real power function to the shifted power button, assuming shifting works on this remote.
Shifting is where you tap the SETUP button before a regular button, that way you can stack 2 functions on a single button.
