In my mind the way that translates to the remote is the Zero (0) key should produce the instant signal (32520 khz +456 -5416 +490 -130580), the one (1) key would not be used, the two key would use the focus-2second wait-shutter signal (32921 khz +452 -7326 +486 -130584), the three (3) key would be the same as the 2 key preceeded by a 1 second delay, the four (4) key same as the two key with a 2 second delay, etc.

Does that make any sense?

I was under the impression that there was just one button on the camera's own remote, but your description makes me think there are actually two buttons. Do you know which is really the case? Do you have a picture of the original remote?

Out of the signals you have tried, have you determined which is the instant shutter trip signal and which is the 2-sec delay signal?

There are actually two diffrent Canon manufactured remotes that work with the camera. One is the Canon RC-1, the other is the Canon RC-5. One has one button and one has two. In reading accounts of the remotes the one button version does a focus-wait-shutter function and the two button version has that same function plus the instant shutter release.

I have neither but have seen pictures on different web sites.

I uploaded working protocol builder files for each of the two buttons on the two button version based on the learned signals in the pronto ccf files that pofig37 mentioned in his post to this thread. (don't ask how I managed to translate them). These protocols work on the physical camera using my urc 8811. I labeled which is which in the PB files.

OK, here's an upgrade for you to try that has both buttons incorporated into the one upgrade.

CH+ is the Instant Shutter and CH- is the 2sec delayed shutter

I've gone one better (hopefully). This next upgrade has delay built in and supports both commands. I've programmed the numeric buttons to send that many seconds delay then send the instant shutter command. I've programmed the 4 arrow buttons (up, down, left, right) to send 1,2,3 and 4 seconds delay then send the focus/shutter command. The SELECT button instantly sends the focus/shutter command.

NOTE: this is completely untested at this point

That's good to hear. Now from a useage standpoint, which will gnerally be more useful, the delay/instant shutter commands or the delay/focus-shutter commands?

In that case, let me tweek the code a little bit to keep it small. In the following upgrade, the numeric buttons all perform a delay than send the focus/shutter command and the POWER button performs the standard instant shutter command.

If you give this a try and it works, I'll forward it on to UEI for possible inclusion in a future remote.

Is there a remote control that could use these codes for the Canon 300d and create a time lapse sequence of exposures. In other words, take a photo every 30 seconds for example and repeat 200 times.

I suppose the protocol could be tweeked to do something like that, but why would you want it to?
