Mark's talking about the IMPORT feature, not the LOAD feature.

BTW, RM also has an "Import from Clipboard" feature, which will import either KM or RM upgrades that have been copied to the clipboard.

Original KM upgrade still created by KM, though, whether you import or load it; I never thought that the problem lay with KM and always blamed IE (common things commonly).

Slight aside - but still download-related - would it help if upgrade uploaders started the long description with the protocol, device code etc. to save opening the file if it was immediately apparent that it wasn't what someone was looking for?

e.g. "NEC1, 128, discretes found for..." rather than "This one took me a while..."

Obviously, requirement #1 is that the file ws created by KM, but requirement #2 is that the line breaks are formatted correctly, which is what we're talking about in this thread. When the line breaks are not formatted correctly, the web screen appears scrambled and KM cannot import the contents from the clipboard.

Sure, that would be useful, but do you have any idea how hard it would be to enforce something like that. I have a hard enough time trying to get people to use file names like "Samsung-DVD" rather than "My-Samsung-DVD" etc which breaks the whole sorting thing.

I haven't tried the kb patch for IE yet, but will soon. Rob, thanks for looking for it. BTW, I run IE 5.5 at the office with no download problems. It's just at home, IE 6.0.2900.... for XP home SP2 that Save Target As has to be forced in.

In addition to few things John and others mentioned, one other thing I'd love to see is last modified date of a file. That was possible over at yahoo files section.
I haven't found a way here to quickly scan for files that were edited since I last looked. Once a file goes in, in October or March, or whenever, it retains that date on the main screen forever. Could we, perhaps, substitute the dates?

So does it work at home now that I've applied the patch?

I thought I have to do the patch on my end so was snooping the knowledge base but couln't find an applicable upgrade
Yes it works at home. IE exact version#: 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519
I tried a bunch of files. Every time the screen asked whether to Save or Open. Thanks much!

My glasses do make the reality sharper, but fail to change it :P
Do you know of any that that can see past the file-list, on the screen behind the click, but without having to click?
