Nils,
To get a 'clean' install I've installed JP1 on a different PC and installed all the files from fresh downloads. I did not install any of the 'Standard' RDF files, just the files that I used in the previous second directory. Then uploaded the base txt file to the remote as you suggested
This involved the following steps :
1) Download and unzip IR401.zip
2) Download and unzip ExtInstall_3.zip
3) Download and unzip URC8060 Extender 1 Beta 2.zip
4) Download the "URC8060 Extender Richard.txt" file.
5) Modify the file "KAM1KAM1 (URC-8060 Kameleon Extender 1).rdf" as shown in your previous post.
6) Copy the "my-urc-8060.txt" file.
7) Copy the "Install-8060-ex1.bat" file
8) Run the Install-8060-ex1.bat file to verify that the resulting file is identical to the "URC8060 Extender Richard.txt" file.
9) Perform a 981 reset on the remote.
10) Load "URC8060 Extender 1.txt" into IR.
11) Change the 'Backlight Off Button Action' to Ignore
12) Upload to the remote.
13) Before the timeout perform a 981 reset of the remote.
14) Upload to the remote.
15) Press TV then Power on the remote.
Unfortunately the result is still the same, the remote hangs.
I don't think we are going to get any further with this unless someone else can try this extender or you get an 8060 exactly like mine.

Oh well, it was worth a shot. I appreciate you taking the time to try this.
I guess unless someone else has some suggestions we can only wait for someone else to test like Ron (who said he would as soon as he gets his PC fixed).
I don't see it necessary that we keep attacking your system until we are sure it is not my problem.
Thanks again....

Hi Guys
I am ready and waiting to get into this - I spent ages yesterday with my local PC World who are doing my repair - new mother board and new memory - They promise to be completed within 4 days
Within an hour or so of collecting the machine I will post my tests. - I have set everythng up in RM on my Mac and for my initial attempt I intend to put into 8060 extender one of my macros which works very well on my 8810w with ext 2.4.
Roll on the day when a Java version of IR is completed 8)

Hey Ron
Thats good news. I look forward to your testing. I fear we will find that there are 2/3 or more versions of the 8060 running around. Not a big deal as once it is figured out I can code for that and find the happy medium.

I uploaded Beta 3 in the jp1/files/extenders/URC8060 folder at jp1.
Link in first post of this thread or follow jp1 files section link below my name
Richard, I don't believe this will solve your problem but worth a try

Hi,
You seem to know a lot about URC 8060 and I'm new to this whole JP1 thing, so I'll ask here. My TV won't turn on with a macro, because it needs a LKP. So would installing this extender solve my problem?

The one way the extender would help is that if you put the power on in the macro last and hold the button it will simulate the long key press needed. I don't think regular macros work that way without the extender.

Picking it up at 10 am this morning
Hopefully will be posting to the forum later today
Will make the changes you have suggested earlier in the thread or have these already been taken care of in the latest RDF Folder 1.13

ok, PC returned but won't go online
However I had already sent the original beta 1 to the PC. from the Mac so.....
1 - New batts. into 8060 followed by 981 reset
2 - Uploaded beta 1 (Nils extender txt file) to the 8060. All lights on - press tv followed by power - sends a continuous signal for approx 6 seconds (not 4 separate blinks)
3 - Remote freezes & after a few moments...crash
4 - Batts taken out re-inserted then 981 reset.
5 - Uploaded Nils .txt file with 1 of my working macros from the 8810w.
6 - Of course, same as before. The 8060 completely dead until batts removed and re-inserted.
Unfortunate the further prob on PC - will now have to return to pc world

Kind of what I expected from beta 1 after Richards initial problem. There is a problem in the loader on the first release. Not sure if the latest will be any better but it should atleast get you past the loader and depending on how different yours is from Richards it may even work.
I now have a newer model (actually Richards) to test on and am making progress.

I know right now I am dealing with 2 version of this remote and would like to determine if there are more.
Would all of you that have an 8060 please look in and around the battery cover and see if there is a lable or a stamp that looks something like
URC-11-8060B02
J 03 22 01
If you have something different than this please post.

Here is a shot of the battery connector end of my URC-8060.
You can see the sticker, which is visible when just removing the battery cover. There are two other revision markings, one of which can be seen without removing the casing, the other can not.
