Announcement: IR V4.0.3 Beta
Moderator: Moderators
Re the "$" error, the PS in my post about 5 or 6 above gives step by step instructions. I suggest you try it with the configuration file I provided this morning, attempting to open any of the first four keymoves in that configuration.
Re the size problem, I haven't the faintest idea how to send you a screen shot. However, on my display, the Keymove dialog opens with dimensions approx. 5 1/2" wide and 7 " tall - centered on the screen. The SPB dialog opens with a width of 4 3/8 " centered on the Keymove dialog and the same height as the keymove dialog, less two border widths. While it may be coincidental, it appears that the height of the Keymove dialog is constraining the SPB dialog, since both top and bottom of the SPB dialog are cut off.
I need 5 3/8" for the full width of the SPB dialog and, unless you revert to the same resizing mechanism as IR uses for its Keymove dialog resizing, 8" in height.
If you need more, just let me know.

Don, you are not being singled out as the bad guy. You are being singled out because we can not duplicate the problems you are having. I will no longer ask you any questions since you take that as being singled out.DGG wrote:I seem to be being singled out as the bad guy here. Don
And I apologize for trying to explain to you why the problems are occuring. I will no longer bother you..
Thanks for your help thusfar.
With the window active that you want to snap, hold <Alt> and hit <PrtScn> (or whatever your print screen key reads). Then open MS Paint and do a Paste function (easiest way is <Ctrl> V). Paint will ask if you want to enlarge the bitmap, answer yes. Now you will have a snapshot of the window. Just save it to a file.DGG wrote:Re the size problem, I haven't the faintest idea how to send you a screen shot.

OK, that one's easy. When you have the thing that you want to show Paul in IR on display, press ALT + PRINT-SCREEN, then fire up an imaging editer program (such as MS Photo Editor, that comes free with Office) and select EDIT > Paste As New Image, then save the file (in JPG format). Then post it to the Diagnosis Area folder.DGG wrote:Re the size problem, I haven't the faintest idea how to send you a screen shot.
Paul,
I just checked your latest build on my machine and I can also confirm that the driver issue has gone, well done.
I haven't really played with this for a while and I haven't read all of the preceeding posts, so I don't know if this has been discussed or not, but I decided to have a go at using the notes boxes. I downloaded the memory from a URC-6131, entered some notes and saved the file. I then opened an old IR file and the notes disappeared (as they should) but when I open the FromRob.txt file that comes with IR, the main notes that I entered for the URC-6131 re-appear.
Out of curiosity, where do you save all these notes? I was expecting to see them stored at the bottom of the IR text files, but they're not there.

Rob:
The notes are saved on a separtae file. Look for an ini that has the name of you file plus _notes.ini
I looked into adding the notes at the end of the IR file. Although that part is easy I will need to change a bit of code in IR to handle that. Plus I will need to add some code to convert the old format to the new. So I decided in the meantime to leave as is.
I am glad the driver thing is fixed.
Don:
I opened every keymove you have in the file. For those protocols that are not supported the SP dialog opens but does not decode. This was a desire from an earlier post. At some point the user has to take some responsibility.
The $ message is because without interprets as a deimal value and will not decode properly.
BTW, based on one of your earlier requests I did make the SP dialog much taller....
EDIT, I just downloaded the screen shot...I have no idea why it looks like that. Please do not take offense but I think you have some odd settings for your Windows. By odd I don't mean bad or wrong but some that are not common. I have tried the SP on several machines with no problem.
BTW, I am running XP at home but because of some of those display issues I have mine set to Standard windows.
Just for giggles try setting your display to stanard and then try it.

I can't create a new Key Move using SPB; clicking the SPB button gives a "Not enough parameters in the function" message. If I enter dummy parms for the EFC/Hex Cmd, I get the "Must have $ in the pramaters" (that's not a typo). You should be able to reproduce this by attempting to Add a new Key Move.
IMHO, the user shouldn't have to enter anything, let alone be forced to enter the $ (especially when the Hex Cmd radio button is selected).

Hmm...just tried it no problem here. (Yes I noticed the typo earlier)
Almost sounds like you have an earlier version. The latest exe has a 3:27PM time. You can create an SP by simply clicking add and then SP. If you add function values and no setup you will receive a message.
BTW, the HexCmd radio only works upon saving the KeyMOve and returning to the grid.

Actually I do allow that. However when returning from SP make sure you have the proper SP selected.
I think what we need is to detail the possible ways a user may come at the SP..If I could have some help from you guys enumerating these I will code accordingly.
In your list please describe the condition in the KM dialog and then the desired reaction when pressing SPB..tx
