CaptiveWorks 3000HD

If you have learned signals that don't get decoded when you look at them in IR.exe, post your file to the Diagnosis Area then post your question here (including a link to the file).

Anyone get this working on slingbox?

Rob was kind enough to help me with the captiveworks 1000 back when I had that. Now I have the 3000 and would like to get it working.

Here is the pronto file and ccf that they posted on captiveworks support site:

Here is a link to the discussion they had about getting it to work with the harmony remote:

What have you tried? Did you try the iMon-Pad that was mentioned earlier in this thread? The iMon-Pad is discussed here

The iMon-Pad remote upgrade file works when I map the available functions to the slingbox remote and create a Slingbox PL bin using RM. One problem is, the physical button layout on the iMon-Pad remote is almost identical to the oem captiveworks remote except that they are mapped differently (buttons on the captiveworks remote that are in the same physical location as the iMon-Pad remote are not all labled the same and therefore perform different functions). The other problem is that while many of the functions available in the iMon-Pad remote are the same on the captiveworks, some are missing. For instance, the iMon-Pad has a navigation pad area that is used as a mouse pointer (it doesn't have individual up, down, left, right buttons). On the captiveworks remote, there are up, down, left, and right buttons and the center of the navigational pad area is the enter/select button. This most likely means that I need to add the new functions to the upgrade file so that I can map the up, down, left, and right buttons to be able to control my cw3000hd. My last problem (the biggie) is that I'm a noob at this stuff and do not know how to do that. I have the pronto file provided by captiveworks two posts above this one. I don't know what to do with that to get the additional functions added to RM upgrade file (how i get the efcs?).

The following links show the physical similarities between the iMon-Pad remote and the captiveworks oem remote.

At least we know the iMon-Pad remote is the same protocol as I was able to get some buttons to work and map correctly. I did notice something weird though: Using the slingplayer remote, if I clicked on one of the buttons that worked, I would no longer be able to utilize that button again until I clicked a different button first. Not sure what would cause that...?

Anyway, can someone please point me in the right direction on this. I have tried many things and have been reading for the last 4+ hours on this. I'm probably missing something easy.

Thanks!

anyone able to jump in on this and get it going the rest of the way? The harmony folks were able to figure it out for their remotes as my 880 works perfectly for the up/down/left/right

Bumping thread. Anyone have any ideas? I basically just need to get the up/down/left/right functions added since they are on the captiveworks remote but not the iMon-pad. I have been unable to decode the pronto file to get the efcs for these functions. As for only being able to press a button once on the slingbox remote maybe the release isn't being sent? Maybe a more simple executor is needed?

I know someone here can help!.. probably just an issue of finding the time.

Can you upload the CCF remote codes to the Diagnosis section?

I downloaded your cw3000hd.ccf file and ran decodeccf from the cmd line:
C:> decodeccf 52 x cw3000hd.ccf
and looked at the cw3000hd.txt file. It doesn't look too much like the iMon-Pad signals though. The iMon-Pad thread mentions 825uS and I don't quite see that in the cw3000hd.txt file.

I tried to see how the mapping of '0','1',Power functions in your cw3000hd.txt would map into the 01 FF protocol executor but couldn't find a way to match it up cleanly.

You may have to try to learn the CW3000 signals on a JP1 remote or hope a real expert can look at the issue.

Well thanks for giving it a shot binky. I have most of it working with the i-mon pad config as mentioned in the threads above. I just need to get the up, down, left, and right buttons mapped since they are on the captiveworks remote but not on the i-mon pad remote. Most of the other buttons are there and working. I also need to get a more simple executor written for the slingbox so that it handles the button push/release correctly. As it is now, it doesn't appear to be releasing the button since I can't press the same button twice in a row.

I've tried putting an upgrade together for you, but it's untested, so give it a whirl.

Thanks for the try Rob but no go. It doesn't seem to respond to any key presses now. If I use the iMon-Pad_KM4.txt that is posted on your site here I get some of the functionality to work althought the buttons are mapped differently and I have the problem of not being able to press the same key twice. I am also missing the left, right, down, and up buttons because there are no such thing on the iMon-Pad remote.

Any ideas?

Do you know for a fact that your device responds to the signals in the CCF that you posted? I didn't have a chance to sample the signals that my upgrade creates to see how close they are to those in the CCF, but it's entirely possible that your device wouldn't respond to them anyway.

If the iMon signals work, have you tried any of the gap OBCs to see if any of them are the arrow buttons?
