How is it that you are using so much of your upgrade memory? I don't recall you getting into any of the more advanced JP1 tricks that tend to me memory hogs, though it's been a while since you've been here, so I don't remember exactly. If you're using an un-extended, are you making any use of your learning memory? The current version of IR.exe let's you overflow your upgrades into the learning memory if needed. Plus, if you are running low on keymove/macro memory, you could replace some of your keymoves with learned signals instead.

If memory usage is an issue, post a copy of your current IR file and we'll offer some memory saving tips.

A very generous offer, and I will probably take you up on in the near future... at the moment, my brain is about to explode.

With the X10 addition, I have seven upgrades loaded... til today, the X10 was the only device that was an 8910 "default device" so, it's not surprising me that the upgrade memory is short, but I have a little elbow room as I try to refine the setup.

After today, the work that remains is macro/move and I have 168 free there which I think will be enough.

If you are curious, the current file is at

I do note that the "notes" show multiple entries for some devices which I assume are protocol and keymove references.

Well, the reason why only 7 upgrades is using up so much memory is because 4 of them require protocol upgrades, and one of the protocols is the Windows Media Center which is big. However, you're not using any of your learning memory, so if you do end up using up the rest of the upgrade memory, you can just let it overflow into the learning memory (it's automatic with the new IR).

thanks... that confirms my assumptions
Windows Media Center protocol which is big
fwiw, I have some high hopes and plans for integrating that into the av mix. Will be building some WM codes to launch folders containing shortcuts to urls, playlists, streaming content, etc in the next few weeks... here's hoping the WM ir keyboard can use your WM protocol.

Thanks again
