Jim,
Thanks for the explaination. It really helps. I posted the pix but I think our posts hit at about the same time.

Steve,
That's a good shot of the PCB with the Sxx numbers visable. We would now also need a shot of the front of the remote so we can get all the button names.

David,
I could open the first two, but the third quits a little below the Macro keys (A,B,C). The thumbnail shows all of the remote tho. just the click to zoom seems to be "broke" for this one.
I noticed something strange, tho. On the top side of the PCB, the red led is conspicuously missing. However, the top of the remote shows a place for one (between the top 2 buttons). Is there a red led, and does it work? What does the "option" button do? On the Mill4's this is occupied by a "power" button.

I just reloaded the third image (front view). See if it works for you now.
I had a look at the pics and the red led is on the 'green' side of the pcb. I definitely works when a button is pressed.

Forgot to mention. When I press the option key, the red led does not light.

Steve,
It loads a lot further now, maybe not all the way, but at least shows all the transport keys which i think are the last two rows. What's "VOD"?
The key between Guide and Exit isn't labelled. However, that same key on the Mill4's sometimes isn't either. When it is, it's usually "lock", and the PCB generally labels it "ppv".
Have you ever found out what "option" does? Of course it doesn't help that you don't have a manual. FWIW, I searched T-W's site and there's no mention at all for the Mill3 as one of the remotes they use out of a list of about 12. What's your zipcode, I have another idea that may get a manual.

I have a Millenium 3 also which came with my Time Warner (Motorola) cable box. The signature is ML30ML30. It also came with a "manual". The manual does show a 995 command which can be used to program favorite channels or macros on the OPTION button only. The stickers inside the battery compartment are G013402 and 3MBXXXW00.
The IR file is

Bill,
Did you ever make an rdf for this remote? It appears to have an upgrade lested, lemme guess your cable uses 0476? Can you scan/whatever the manual and post it?
I can help with an rdf, take maybe an hour or so using Yahoo messenger. Just need you to do some button pushing and reporting.

Jim.
I have no idea what VOD Shift is. I've never used the transport keys (yes they are the last ones) as I don't have a VCR. In fact I've never used any of they keys below the page keys. However, I use the page keys a whole lot. I wish more remotes had them.
The unlabeled key between Guide and Exit takes me to the parental lock screen on the cable box.
My zipcode is 77377.

That 0476 upgrade probably came preloaded from the cable company to match his cable box.

VOD = Video On Demand.

I just created a starter RDF for the Millenium 3. The button codes should be correct, but the stuff in the SETTINGS section is probably wrong, and the keymaps, etc are just copied from a Mil4 RDF, so they're probably wrong too.

I also re-formatted the IR dump posted above into a complete (useable) file:

I'll scan the manual tomorrow and post it. The cable code was preset by the cable company. The only code I selected was the VCR code. I was goint to try to make a rdf but decided it was over my head. I use the Mill 3 only for controlling the cable box in my computer room. The TV is so old (analog tuner and volume Knob) that a remote for the TV is useless. I have 2 RS-1994s that I use for my other TVs, VCRs, DVDs, receiver and other cable box.

The scanned manual turned out to be too large a file to post to the jp1 files area (about 3.7 Mb). If anyone woul like, I can e-mail or fax the manual directly to them.
