And I'm still of the opinion that it can. I don't use things like shift/ENTER because I agree that that would be too hard for people to remember, I just use shift on the device buttons and power. The one exception to that rule is that I've programmed Replay's ENTER function onto shift/SELECT to get around the "Select Enter Switcheroo" design flaw, but I haven't told anyone else in the family about it.
Bottom line, I have my antique 15-1994 programmed to work about 13 devices and the programming is simple enough that everyone else in my familay can use it.
