And I'm still of the opinion that it can. I don't use things like shift/ENTER because I agree that that would be too hard for people to remember, I just use shift on the device buttons and power. I find this acceptable (and so does my wife and kids - 4yo and 7yo) because these are "one time" sort of operations, in other words, you use a shift operation to start and another to end, but in the middle you don't need to use shift.

The one exception to that rule is that I've programmed Replay's ENTER function onto shift/SELECT to get around the "Select Enter Switcheroo" design flaw, but I haven't told anyone else in the family about it.

Bottom line, I have my antique 15-1994 programmed to work about 13 devices and the programming is simple enough that everyone else in my familay can use it.

Rob, I have an antique SL 9000. Is there an easy way to JP1 program it? I suppose that I could use a 15-2116 as a vehicle: teach the 2116 tricks that it will then teach the SL-9000 through the LEDs. Is there an easier way? I like it because it has a LOT of keys!

Obviously, the SL9000 is not a JP1 remote, so you can't use JP1 to program it, but it is a learning remote with alot of memory, so you could use the 15-2116 along with your OEM remotes to teach it commands.

The main drag about the SL9000 is that it doesn't have seperate arrow and transport keys. I think this contributed to it's downfall.

However, it does come with some nice stickers that you can use to re-label the buttons on the 15-2116!
