Well. The file you recommend is not .rmdu type. It is just regular .txt.
When I open it in RMIR it says: "The upgrade file you are loading is for the remote URC-9910 / URC-8910 / UEI-HTPro There is no remote with that exact name. Please chose the best match from the list below." Unfortunately this list does not contain Nevo C2. Which one should I use as a "best match"?

You're getting close. When you open it, pick something close to URC-9910. Then go back and change to Nevo.

I just updated the file to be an RMDU file with the Nevo pre-selected:

Thank you The Robman. I managed to use this file with no issues. All codes work fine. I also tried to create several different keyboard layouts. Unfortunately all of them are really inconvenient to use on Nevo C2. May be you could recommend another JP1 remote with more programmable screen keys. I need at least 16 of them displayed together at one screen. I hope the procedure of uploading of the config file will be the same for that different remote.

Put them on the num pad or multiple pages. There is no JP1 remote with a larger screen. Such a remote is several hundred dollars.

I found the
original Pronto file that we got the codes from, then I opened it using Pronto Edit so I could get a better idea of what the buttons do by seeing the additional labels the user gave them.
I have updated the JP1 file so that the buttons have better descriptions and have updated the Nevo layout.

I have the main 6 buttons with unusual names on the first page of custom buttons and then the numeric 11-16 buttons on the second page.
I have also duplicated several buttons onto hard buttons, like so...
Menu = Memory (both begin with M)
Exit = Effector (both begin with E)
Info = User
Guide = Acoustic
List = Parameter
Record = Title Edit
Up = Balance Front
Down = Balance Rear
Left = Level Down
Right = Level Up
I also duplicated 11-16 on the first 6 transport buttons

Thank you Rob,
This new layout is something I can live with. I made one other myself with all four screens with the button names. I am going to see which one is more convenient to use. Could you please kindly explain me one basic thing. Just for better understanding. If sometime in the future I change the remote to the other JP1 compatible remote will it be possible to use the same file with it or I have to ask someone here to patch it in order to be the new remote compliant. By some reasons when I open the file in RMIR for editing it does not allow me to chose anything other then Nevo C2 from corresponding drop down menu.

If you open the RMDU file directly by double clicking, you can change it to any other remote model.

RMIR is the program that you use to reconfigure your remote.
RM is the program that you use to reconfigure an upgrade.
You can't reconfigure your RMIR file so that it works with a different remote, but you can reconfigure an RMDU file for a different remote.
Just remember that most JP1 remotes don't have custom screens, so on a regular remote you would have to find regular buttons for all those unusual DSP buttons.
