I just tested the new build, but still get the driver error.

Did this build also have the DEV conditional removed?
Add/Insert Shift now work fine.

Misc/1107 is showing up as LCD/CNM instead of LCD/CMN.
Thanks.

Oooops, the 1107 name was my fault. I gave it to Paul wrong this morning. Should be CMN (Custom Mode Name)

I'm still getting the driver error, but do see the typo fix.

I just noticed that in my IR directory I have files named irnotes.ini and _notes.ini. They are 0 byte files. I don't save any files to the IR directory, should these files be there?

I have an idea..........
Lets all help out Paul by chipping in a few bucks and buying a copy of XP for everyone running IR on 98 or ME.
Actually, if we hold out he may do that anyway...

Another little "nit" (that needn't hold up release).
When creating a note, one can format with <CTRL>tabs. However, in the Macro window, the tab is shown as a vertical bar. Not unexpectedly, the Keymove window does the same.

Hold the presses!
Before Paul undertook to add a notes capability, I maintained notes separately. Using the most recent release of IRBeta, I attempted to transcribe the notes for my 20 macros into IRBeta. Things didn't go as well as expected.
The first 8 or 10 were OK, except that a couple of them wouldn't "play back" into the notes field of the Macro dialog. Those notes were displayed on the Macro page with all the others, but the Notes field on the Macro dialog remained blank.
Then, there started to be a noticeable delay as each successive note was added - until the application became non-responsive. After restarting my computer, I opened the notes file with Notepad. I found two or three lines of spaces between two notes, 10-20 lines between the next two, about a hundred lines of spaces between the next two - and so on. Even after editing to remove the excess spaces, most of them wouldn't "playback" (as above) - but all display properly on the Macro page).
All the notes that don't "playback" are long, i.e., >100 characters. But, the two longest of the lot display properly.
My notes file is posted
here

I've come across another bug. If you define a toadtog that is designed to only turn a bit on, but not run any commands, I get an error message when clicking on the special protocols button. (ex. $B8)
Also, protocol TV 1234 used to be the toadtog protocol, when you had to compile the protocol to create toadtogs. Could it be labeled toadtog even though the special protocols dialog can't support it?
One other "note" is that it would be nice to have a notes tab that would be used like the notes section on the setup tab in KM. When I'm configuring a complex remote setup, I often stop in the middle and have trouble remembering what I had left to do or what I've already done. This can definitely wait till the next round of changes, just wanted to put it out there while I remember.

Don - The issue with the performance had been noticed by Nils and has already been fixed. The notes not showing up was a dumb programmer error when comparing strings. The <CTRL> issue is because I am using just straight txt fields. (BTW...I tested as many of your notes and was able to see them all...let me know if that's not the case.)
Dabbith- I added the most excellent and large Notes field just for you buddy 8) ...Fortunately the way a configured this makes it fairly simple to add more sections to the notes file. I also added the 1234 TT to the list of constants.
Rob- I have no idea what is going on. Truly baffling since the code that checks for the dirver hasn't changed at all....I think we may need Mark Pauker to help on this one.
Ok then....let's try it one more time..there is no question that this is probably the most complete testinh I've ever had on an application
