I Will try this again (I tried before, but got the same result" go to yahoo and your will find all you need)
I just got an 8810 from wal-mart, while looking for a code for 2nd dvd player (Yamakawa model 218) that is not in the remote, I went to internet to see if I could find the code, since the manufacturer did not responded to varoius E mails, I saw so many articles about a jp1 cable that I decided to buy a jp1.
I though that I would get some kind of instructions on how to use it (what file to download) none came with the cable, and now I am not sure which files to download.
Can anybody Email me a sequence of what files to download, what to do once downloaded,(unzip them, maybe?), not just go to yahoo and find all there.
I can follow directions, if I have then somewhere.
Thanks for listening.

Miquel, the reason nobody has tried to help you is because you're asking for too much, and people can tell from your answers that you probably won't understand the directions that they give you and it will all end up in frustration on their part.
Everybody else has managed to go to Yahoo, read the expertly written Beginners guide and download the programs. Someone else in one of your other threads even gave you the upgrade for your Yamakawa.
You have to show at least SOME willingness to help yourself for any of the volunteers here to want to help you.

Like Rob said, you must first read the "JP1 for Dummies" tutorial that can be found here. It gives clear, step-by-step directions on what you'll need to download and how to get started.
I'm in the same boat as you (pretty new to this stuff) but you gotta do the homework before you ask for help!

It sound like you are trying to start with KM - I assume that since it is an Excel application. Instead, start with IR. First use the JP1 cable and IR to download the current state of your remote and save it to a file on your computer. Try a very simple change using IR and upload it to your remote just to get some confidence and see your change actually work.
After you have a little confidence with simple stuff in IR, then get more advanced. If you continue to have trouble with KM, then instead use RM. There is more to the set-up since you need Java, but you won't fight Excel. Using RM (or KM if you go that way) load the device upgrade change it for your remote and then cut and paste it into IR as a device upgrade.
There are tons of other fun stuff you can do. But stick with the simple stuff first.
