1. Device: Zenith TVBR1942Z
2. Type of device: TV/VCR combo
3. Year: 2011
4. JP1/UEI Remote model: URC-8910
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? Yes
6. Still have original remote? No
7. Checked the file section? Yes
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? Yes
9. Partially working setup code? no
10. Learning remote question? n/a
11. Have you tried the JP1 Lookup Tool? working through the list now
We're at a vacation unit and we're trying to program a URC-8910 to work the TV/VCR combo unit that doesn't have an original remote. I've tried the one Zenith file in the file section (for a TVBR1322) but it doesn't work. _________________ Rob

Is there a quick way to make a device upgrade from an ict file?
Here's the ICT file for Zenith TVBR1942Z from the Harmony DB: http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=9889 _________________ Remotes; JP1.2: Comcast URC-1067, JP1.3: Insignia NS-RC02U-10A, JP1.4 OARI06G, JP2.1: Cox URC-8820-MOTO (still trying to figure out how to make them self-aware.) |

Or you could just use Video 0479-- gets the basic functions.
I assume that Mute is EFC 165, based on the Lookup Tool.
eferz,
I suppose you've already got a method, but I use File\Summary in IRScope. That allows me to copy and paste into Excel (format a suitable block of cells first for Text), then convert to columns. At that point you can copy the Function column to RM in one shot, and do the same with the OBCs. |

Awesome! Thanks, 3FG. Didn't realize I could do that. I've just been manually typing it in data entry style but I'll start using your method from now on. _________________ Remotes; JP1.2: Comcast URC-1067, JP1.3: Insignia NS-RC02U-10A, JP1.4 OARI06G, JP2.1: Cox URC-8820-MOTO (still trying to figure out how to make them self-aware.) |

Thanks Earl, unfortunately that upgrade looks exactly the same as the one that's already out there for a Zenith combo, which tends to imply that maybe the remote sensor on the TV itself is broken. _________________ Rob
