Hi all

i have a Kameleon URC-8060 and have managed to upgrade via wav but can not find a code for my technomate 5402hd sat reviver
i have a psp with ir shell and can learn codes from that but am not sure how to get this data in to a usable format with ir program to create device for my kemeleon

when i look at the rfd file that the psp creates ir says the file is version 0

have tried looking and have found no posts on how to do this the data in the rdf file is i have only mapped one button so far and if i can find some answers the i will start to map all the others

the file contains
CROSS=power
0000 0067 0000 0022 016C 00B5 0017 0042 0017 0043 0016 0043 0017 0017 0015 0043 0017 0042 0017 0043 0016 0043 0017 0016 0016 0016 0017 0016 0017 0042 0017 0016 0017 0016 0016 0016 0017 0016 0017 0016 0016 0016 0017 0016 0017 0016 0016 0016 0017 0016 0017 0016 0016 0016 0017 0043 0016 0043 0017 0042 0017 0043 0016 0043 0017 0042 0017 0043 0016 0043 0017 064E

Point of confusion. RDF has two meanings. I'm sure your not talking about a JP1 RDF file, but rather a PSP RDF file.

Cool news for you. This PSP format is the same method that philips pronto uses to store data, and there are several JP1 tools (IR.EXE, IRScope, or IRTool) where you can import the data and build an upgrade and upgrade the Kameleon.

When you create your upgrade please share it here, so that others can be helped too.

I recommend using IR.EXE to do this. You'll need DecodeIR.dll too, but I think that's included in the IR zip file these days.

If you open IR, you can simply add this code as a Learn, so that you can see the decode information needed to make a KM or RM upgrade.

BTW, This Power button is decoding as a Pioneer, 247 OBC =0.

If you have any problems, let us know.

Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

The only difference between Pioneer and NEC1 is the frequency. Pioneer is 40KHz, while NEC1 is 38KHz. If you get other learns which decode as NEC1 instead, don't worry. Just try to guess which is the more likely frequency and use that executor in making an upgrade.

The PSP doesn't capture the actual frequency on learns, just the on/off envelope. The user is required to guess the frequency. So, I'd suspect that if it's coming up as Pioneer (40 KHz), it's likely that it's actually NEC1 at 38 KHz.

IR.exe give me an error (invalid data the value $16c is not with in the range of $00 - $ff) not to sure what i am doing wrong with this one

i am trying to build a remote with remote master as i am finding this easier to use but after i have decoded the signal and used command number and put this in to the obc for the button command it didn't work

i hope i am doing this right any other help would be appreciated

IR is expecting UEI type learns. You need to select the pronto option.

If you Zip your PSP and RDMU and IR files together and post them in the diagnosis section, and post a link to the file here, we'll take a look at what is going on.

IR should be able to decode pronto hex if you select pronto before pasting into the box. From the Learned Signals tab, click Add then click on the Pronto radio button just above the "cancel" button on the dialog. Then paste the Pronto hex, just the numbers with nothing else, into the data box. Choose a key and device in the dropdowns and it will show the protocol, device, OBC, etc. The frequency is probably wrong, as it will only show what you selected on the PSP when you learned the signal and not what the signal actually was frequency-wise. It should work in any case. 38KHz vs 40KHz is well within the frequency tolerance of most devices.

If you post your .rmdu upgrade file from remote master in the diagnosis file section:

http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=category&cat_id=35

we can take a look and see what might be wrong. It wouldn't hurt also if you post the RMIR or IR file that you're putting the upgrade into.
