I have just created an RM upgrade file that includes the hack buttons, assigned as follows:
Rewind = IN Start
FFwd = IN End
Stop = EZ Adjust
However, I get an error when I try to create a WAV file (here at work). If someone else hasn't jumped in and created a WAV file for you before then, I'll create one when I get home.
Here's the RM file:

No idea how to do what? All I'm asking you to do is wait for either myself or someone else to create a WAV file for you, then you can follow the instructions in the user manual to load the WAV file upgrade into your remote.shyman wrote:I have no idea how to do that. I can get a all-for-one URC-3940 off ebay in the UK for £10. Will this work?
Once the upgrade is loaded, you would then assign setup code 12000 (ie, TV/2000) to the TV device button. Then the REW/FFWD/STOP buttons would be available as the USB hack buttons.

I don't know where you got the MP3 or Symbian references from as I just scanned the manual and neither word is mentioned. However, I also noticed that the manual doesn't go into detail on how to load upgrades as it says "From this point just follow the instructions on the screen for easy upgrade of your remote" so here's the step by step instructions (adapted from here):shyman wrote:I had a look at the manual. I don't have a remote which is able to plug into a MP3 player or access to one of them symbian phones
1) Press and hold FFWD and REW together, 2 flashes
2) Type 997
3) Hold remote up to the PC speaker and press SELECT
4) Play the WAV file

Thanks for your help but this didn't work. I did exactly as you said, the red light stayed on well after the WAV stopped then the buttons you assigned the functions to didn't bring up the hidden menusThe Robman wrote:I don't know where you got the MP3 or Symbian references from as I just scanned the manual and neither word is mentioned. If the upgrade had loaded, the next step would be to assign the 12000 setup code to the TV button. Did you do that, and if so, was the code accepted or rejected?

I was referring to this...
Before playing the sound file:
I just went through the motions of getting a WAV upgrade from oneforall.com so I could see the instructions that they give you and it turns out that I gave you bad instructions for this remote. Here's what it says on the OFA site:The Robman wrote:No idea how to do what? Before playing the sound file:
- Turn your speakers' volume to half of MAX and turn the TONE to MAX (if any). If you have small speakers, it's better to turn up the volume more.
- Press any device key (for example 'TV'). Then press and hold down the 'REWIND' and 'FASTFORWARD' keys simultaneously until the red LED double blinks. Then press the 'POWER' key to prepare the remote control for the upgrade by entering its upgrade state mode. The red LED will stay on.
- Place the remote control on the face of the speaker. The remote should face you. It is recommended that the your remote control's back touches the speaker. Make sure the 'Energy Saver key' is at the same height as your speaker.

Nothing.
Still having no joy. Played the Wav and the light stayed on after the sound and flashed after it.
Then did the 12000 code and nothing happened. If I could have a final step by step guide it would be easier as I'm confused now. Then I could say where it is going wrong.

That should have been the first clue that something wasn't right. (Just FYI, the SELECT button is sometimes labeled as "OK" on some remotes).shyman wrote:Nothing
Let me know if the new instructions work.
