I thought I had learned all the tricks about programming Yamaha boxes after developing a complete load for my new RX765 Yamaha box, but then someone asked me to do the same for their V2700. I stand very corrected!
1. Device: Yamaha RX-V2700
2. Type of device: Audio
3. Year: Unknown - probably 5 years old
4. JP1/UEI Remote model: Atlas/Rogers 1055 and RCA Learning Remote
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? Yes
6. Still have original remote? See note below
7. Checked the file section? Yes
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? Yes
9. Partially working setup code? Very little
10. Learning remote question?
11. Have you tried the JP1 Lookup Tool? Yes
This box uses a RAV362 remote (not working) or a RAV25 remote (a very small subset of the RAC362). With my learning remote I was able to get some of the codes off the RAV25 and then proceeded to check all of the Yamaha files to find a match for those functions. Not a single file in the files section for Yamaha had any matches!
I had thought that Rob published a file some time ago with all the Yamaha codes but I couldn't find it.
This Yamaha box seems to use devices 124/126 based on the learned codes from the working remote.
The issue is that the small RAV25 remote has none of the codes that I need - specifically selecting Scene or HDMI inputs.
There used to be a site in the UK that had all the Yamaha codes but that site seems to have disapeared.
I am quite capable of creating a complete RM load (which I will post once completed) but I am looking for anyone with suggestions on where I might find some of the codes for the V2700 which seems so different from all other Yamaha boxes. And yes, of course, I did look at the V2500 already, but nothing is even close!
Any suggestions? |

I believe the Yamaha Master IR Collection has the RX-V2700.
The collection has components designed in 2008 or before.
However, I think that you'll find the devices are 122 and 126, and many functions are the same as other Yamaha receivers. Probably your friend has his receiver set up for ID2. |

Thanks so much 3FG. That Yamaha file is exactly what I have been looking for. If it is not proprietary, should it not be posted in this forum, or at least a link to it?
I sure wish I had that file when doing the RX765!
How can I change the receiver to a different ID if it is set for ID2. Unfortunately I do not have the manual for the box.
Again, thanks so much for that Yamaha doc - it is worth its weight in gold. |
