extender and protocol options for 9811

Post by jwkxneud »

I'm trying to get my head around "extenders" and "special protocols". Some protocols only work with extenders. Some work without extenders. Some come in both flavors, like ToadTog.

I need ToadTog and LKP. Is LKP only available in the 8910 extender?

Also, is any special protocol or extender needed to put macros on the device buttons?

What does the URC-9811 look like? Is this the HTPro remote?

Yes. It's labeled "HT Pro Plus" and so far everything for the 8910 has worked with it.

I think for TT and LKP your only choice is the 8910 extender.

I would advise that you refer to this remote as HTPro then, rather than URC-9811 as that's generally how we know it. However, neither the "HTPro" name or the URC-9811 model number are unique, as these same names were used for the older version of the HTPro, which is really a re-labelled URC-9800 "Producer 8".

Your remote is simply a re-labelled URC-9910 remote, so everything posted for the URC-8910 or URC-9910 will work with the HTPro.
