Hey Alan, these answers are inconsistent. The 15-2116 is a learning remote, so you should be able to learn the buttons from your OEM remote and use that info to either identify an existing upgrade or create a new one. If you tried it and had problems, please explain what problems you had.alank2 wrote:4. JP1/UEI Remote model: RS 15-2116

Did you try any of the Motorola upgrades in the file section, I bet one of them would work your DVR. Try this one, for example...

One more thing, did you try a blink back from the OEM Motorola remote, to just identify the setup code.

Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

If your Motorola uses a UEI Cable Remote, then there was a 991 search and a 990 Blink back.
To see the Manual Programming Instructions for the details.

Well, step 1 would have been to at least try CBL/0476 because that would have confirmed to us that this box uses the standard Motorola codeset. If that code hadn't have worked, the next step would have been to de-activate the extender and learn some buttons as that would have given us a clue as to what codeset was the right one.
You can take your pick from most of the Motorola upgrades in the Cable section. I've linked to one already for you, Dave just linked to another.
If these upgrades don't work for you, or they don't include all of the buttons, what's preventing you from learning all the buttons to get the right codes for the upgrade?

Please load your upgrade file into our file section, so the next user won't need to spend the time that you did, and then post a link to it here.
Why did it take you so long to customize the upgrade? What did you do to it?

Hi Rob,
I am using an extender.
I had to remove my old TV and DVR and their protocols, and add the new ones to test them to see if they worked.
I used to have my receiver switch modes to select what was being watched/listened to, but since my receiver has no hdmi, I am using the TV as the input selection now. Luckily the TV has an optical output I can feed to the receiver and leave it in one mode.
I used to use P-device key to switch modes without the remote sending all codes to configure, but I seldom used this so I removed it.
I have some devices that don't have discrete power on/off so I had other keys dedicated to turn them on/off, but I needed more devices so I moved those to their P-device key.
All modes need to turn the TV on, receiver on, delay, select receiver mode (always TV), and then select the correct discrete input on the TV.
I had older stuff to cleanup and remove.
I went through both keymaps and chose which keys would work the best for replacing the OEM controller so we could access everything we need to.
Organized everything. I didn't realize you could drag rows around in IR, that makes organizing much easier!!
And, I'm slow!
I don't really have any files to post as the ones you guys posted worked great. I didn't make any changes to them other than picking which keys I wanted to map up, etc.
