Sky Remote in RM

Post by silron1 »

In anticipation of receiving back the excellent job Rob appears to be doing with my Sky Remote, I took a look at it in RM.

Currently (file date Nov.03) the following buttons do not appear to be mapped - Program Guide - Box Office - Services - Interactive.

I could not understand this as they are shown in the .map folder with the images but are not availiable in the layout.

Rob is busy preparing a new rdf after looking at my remote but will this also take care of the mapping in RM?.

Ron :? (again)

The problem here is definitely in the RDF.

The 4 buttons you speak of are not defined in the [Buttons] section.
They are in the [Buttons2] section, which isn't even a valid section (it isn't documented in the RDF3pec.doc, and RM won't recognize it).
Furthermore, they don't have keycodes assigned.

There's an updated RDF for the old Sky remote in the RDF folder. The "Buttons2" section was just a placeholder for those buttons as we had no idea what their keycodes where yet.

The newer Sky remote (the one that Ron's waiting for) needs a completely different RDF. We have put a preliminary version in the RDF folder for your reference, but it's not finished.

With the newer version of the RDF in the RDF section at jp1 those 4 buttons will be picked up automatically by RM since I had prenamed the buttons in the map. The only button that is not picked up is the information button since it is called i_button in the map. The next distribution of maps will correct this.

As an interim solution the information button in the RDF could be changed to i_button.

I just changed the "information" button back to "i_button" and I linked it to "display" (aka "info"). The physical button is just labelled "i" but in the manual it is described as the "information" button.

I have replaced the two RDFs
