AXL01008 Atlas 4, anyone seen this?

If you have a new remote that isn't recognized by RMIR, post the details here so we can help create a new RDF for it. Or, if there is an issue with an existing RDF or map, this is the place.

AXL01008 Atlas 4, anyone seen this?

Post by stangbat »

This is my mom's remote from her cable company. It looks just like the Atlas 4 picture in RM and the physical key layout is the same. I've searched and looked through the released RDFs and the RDFs in development and can't find anything. Needless to say, the Atlas 4 RDF doesn't work.

IR reports a signature of AXL01008 with a SC38+ processor. It is marked as JP1.2 and the sticker inside the battery compartment states:
URC-4ACXXXB05
A043402

I have the raw data from IR. It's not big deal if I can't find out anything or do anything with it. I just thought I'd post it to see if anyone had any clues about it. It seems similar to the remote discussed here:

What sort of cable did you use to download the memory?

Are you interested in doing some work to help build an RDF for it?

I used a Tommy Tyler JP1.2/3 USB cable.

As for the RDF, I can help out if it seems like a worthwhile effort. I did some searching on the forum and some Googling and there didn't seem to be much interest. Myself, I don't have much reason to mess with it as it currently does what my mom needs it to do and there's not much I'd change if I had an RDF available. I just figured I'd post a pic and some information in case anyone else had seen one or knew something about it.

The fact that you used a JP1.2/3 cable confirms that it's a flash remote, so it's not an S3C8+ processor. The naming convention of the signature would tend to imply that it uses an SST (JP1.1) processor, but it could also be one of the very early HCS08 (JP1.2) models.

Could you post a copy of your IR file please?

Thanks. I won't have a chance to try it out until this coming Tuesday. But I'll report back on how it works.

The RDF appears to work fine. I was able to set VPT to the TV, which made my mom happy. There were a bunch of device upgrades present and one macro for VOD. Anything you want me to check or play with?

I was just given the WOW version of this remote. Is there any interest for an extender on this model?
