I have win 7 64 bit and IR 8.03. I added a parallel interface into my machine. I set compatability to XP sp3 and run as administrator. When I go into the interface menu the jp1 parallel is grayed out. I found a thread on this problem and it sounds like it is the 64 bit windows. I tried the windows virtual pc. the device manager there said lpt1 was on 378 but windows 7 says it is on E700. I tried both in IR but still no joy. Anyone ever try it in virtual pc? I have had some problem with my cable in the past. I haven't checked that yet.
I wish I would have read up on this before I bought the parallel port. I would have spent that cash on the usb cable instead.

We had to do a lot of work to get the EEPROM based USB cables working with 64-bit OS, but I think we decides that it was either impossible or not worth the effort to get the parallel cables working. I think we decided that the chances of a 64-bit machine having a parallel port were pretty remote (no pun intended).
