URC-10820N - fast macro patch?
While a full-blown extender is being developed, is there a way to use Mike's fast macro patch (written for the 15-100) on the 10820N?
I used to have 5 remotes that controlled one thing each. Now I have 6 remotes that each control everything!

It's probably difficult if not impossible, but I'll leave it to an expert to explain why. the 15-100 uses a different processor than the 10820 (iirc) so the protocol upgrade is not portable.

Thanks for your effort, but I was unable to get it to work. In fact, my remote is now unresponsive, and I can't get it to take the keypresses needed for a mfg reset. I'm uploading the IR file to the diagnosis section.

I'm sorry I've been dragging my feet on this extender. I've been doing a lot of physical labor, so my "free time" is spent sleeping instead of writing code. I "think" I've got the last of the wrinkles ironed out and was starting to write the documentation (I hate writing documentation).
I took a very quick look at the IR file posted, and it looks like Jetstar did things correctly. If the 10820 code works, the 10820n code should work as well. I think my last extender wrinkle might be directly related to this problem. The HT macros that worked on the 10820 were occasionally timing out on the 10820n. If the timer expires, the remote stops what its doing and resets. That sounds like what might be happening here.

I don't suppose tha you saved your remote's IR image before editing it?jetstar52 wrote:Thanks for your effort, but I was unable to get it to work. If so, have you tried re-loading that image?
If not, perhaps someone who has a 10820N can do so and post it here for you to use.

I suspect that Binky's upgrades may be changing settings in the remote itself, and if that's the case then simply loading a good IR image won't fix the problem.

As long as the remote can still be read by IR this is a recoverable error, but its going to need the help of an expert.
Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.
Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

I reloaded the image from just before the patch, and also one of a "virgin" 10820N. Neither one worked.
Since the store will refund within 30 days of purchase, I can get my $9.99 back, so it's not worth much more bother on your parts.

I used jetstar's IR file, and activated the fast macro patch, macro M1 ran very fast. I then deactivated the fast macro and the M1 ran very slow. Worked as advertised.
Still could be a timer issue or a low voltage situation that caused the problem.
