keymove question (unextended)

Post by reybie »

I came across some codes from the old yahoo forums and I'm trying to implement it into my 6131 to see if it works on my RCA TV. I gave up on the extender since it was causing me more headaches that what I was trying to accomplish.
RCA Device 7 is CBL/0392, EFC = 227
RCA Device 5 is VCR/0522, EFC = 227
RCA Device 13 VCR/0202, EFC = 227
RCA Device 14 VCR/0060, EFC = 227
Does this look right how I put it in IR?
BoundDevice=TV
BoundKey=Shift-DVD
DeviceButton=N/A
DeviceType=VCR/DVD
SetupCode=0202
EFC=227

Thanks.

If you are using an unextended 6131, then you'll have to enter the EFC as two hex bytes. Click the Hex Cmd option and enter:

HexCmd = 00 E3

(E3 is EFC 227 expressed as a hexadecimal number.)

This is required because the (unextended) 6131 uses "new-style" keymoves that work differently from most all other JP1 remotes.

Or, if that in itself is too confusing, you could just enter them the old fasioned way using the remote. VCR/0202 is not present in the URC-6131, so you would need to make a dummy upgrade to re-create it.
