I've got to ask, why are you trying to control a car stereo with a Slingbox? :)

I needed an easy way to remotely listen to AM and FM radio stations. I could have used a regular receiver but I also wanted to be able to see what station/frequency I was listening to. Getting RDS and HD radio text information is also a bonus. By using the relatively cheap Jensen I get a video output showing all that information.

Universal remotes don't usually cater to the automotive applications. Since you've checked our upgrade area and remotecentral site for user submitted files and came up empty, chances of you finding a Jensen Car Stereo upgrade are pretty low.

You'll need to really work for this. You might want to see if the Jensen Car Stereo reacts to either of the two official Jensen Audio Codes Audio/ 0754, Audio /1968 & Cable VAC/1165

You might want to contact Jensen's support and see if they'll give you the technical specifications of the signal.

You might want to pick up a widget, and read the codes.

If you own a UEI universal remote you might want to do a code search and see if anything gives you partial control of the unit.

Also we have some CAR stereo remotes in the upgrade area, you might want to try those too just to see if the device shares a common IR module.

Goodluck

Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

If you're willing to pay for the return shipping, you could send me your remote and I'll capture the signals and post an upgrade.

Thanks for the offer - I may take you up on that. I'm looking at picking up an IR Widget so I can try this out myself. If I have trouble where would I ship to?

UPDATE:
I picked up an IR widget and scanned in the original remote. I figured out how to add the codes into RemoteMaster and uploaded them to the SlingBox and it's working! I'll make a couple more tweaks and then upload the config file once it's finished. Although I'm not sure how to add the remote image and map the keys so I might need some help with that. Thanks everyone for your help!

Please update our files with your upgrade when you are through. This will be really helpful to people that use universal remotes.

Congrats!

If there's any chance that you won't do the tweaks right away, could you load up the file now and then maybe replace it later when the tweaks are done?

Experience tells me that when people delay loading files because they intend to improve them later, they almost always forget to load the file at all. As this is a device that we don't have anything for, I'd really like to get what you have, even without the tweaks.

Looking at images of this car stereo it looks like it has standard RCA cable connections. Is this correct? How are you providing the 12V? What are you using for the antenna?

Just interested. It's pretty cool concept.
