There are LOTS of Sony receiver upgrades in the file section. Have you tested ANY of them? I refer you to the template instructions related to question number 7.
7. Checked the file section?
This is more of a checklist item than a real question. The assumption is that you have checked the file section to see if someone else has created an upgrade for this device but didn't find one. Please provide more details if this is not the case. AND REMEMBER, you don't always need to find the exact model that you have as many manufacturers use the same codeset for all models of a device.
If you don't know which folder your file would be in, use the file section search button (don't search the forum):
If you have tested the upgrades for similar models and they didn't work, please say so in your post. If you found an upgrade that partially works, please post a link to it. DO NOT refer to upgrades by the setup code number that was used as this is meaningless to us.

If you have a learning remote (and the 8910 is a learning remote) and you have the original remote and a JP1 cable, please explain why the learning option is not applicable.

I guess I was looking for something closer to start with than the remotes listed for Sony.
I didn't see any recent files and the receiver 4 HDMI inputs which is a pretty recent addition to receivers.
I spent 4 hours yesterday coming up with something that will work. I ended up using another remote to learn the IR signals (I didn't know the 8910 was a learning remote it's been so long since I needed to modify it).
In the end I got it all sorted.
Thanks,
Paul
