Panasonic DMP-BD60 Blu Ray

Post by fiveliter8 »

1. Device: PANASONIC DMP-BD60
2. Type of device: BLU RAY PLAYER
3. Year: 2009
4. JP1/UEI Remote model: URC-9910
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? YES
6. Still have original remote? YES
7. Checked the file section? YES - found similar but have issue
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? YES
9. Partially working setup code? NO
10. Learning remote question? N/A

I found a KM file similar to this model (DMP-BD55), which has a device code of 1490. When I get it into the remote, it shows a device code of 0504 and none of the functions work on the player. The device code is the same as my set top box (OTA Tuner), so I tried changing the code to 1491, which made no difference. I removed the protocol, upgrade, and keymoves/macros for my old DVD player as well. Any ideas? Thanks!

The URC-9910 requires a protocol upgrade for this KM file. Did you also copy the protocol upgrade into IR? If not, then the remote might ignore your upgrade and default to some predetermined setup code. Also, the copy of the KM file I have shows the setup code to be 1490, not 1491.

Make sure you pick the 9910 remote in KM and copy/paste the upgrade AND protocol code. Then in IR you have to change your DVD code to DVD 1491. When you do all those things, the upgrade will work fine.

Alex, From your description its unclear as to which upgrade you used. And since you didn't upload your IR file, its hard to do more than guess as to what went wrong since you didn't load your IR file.

My guess here is that you forgot to change KM to your remote prior to copying the upgrade to your IR file. If you forget that step you might have loaded an invalid protocol, causing your remote to reboot when it hit an invalid instruction. But there are SO MANY itty bitty things that could have gone wrong and with no visual evidence its all just guess work.
Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.

Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

Sorry. Was slow to upload my files. Also, correct on the device code (corrected in OP). Yes, I set the remote in KM and also inserted the protocol. Thanks for the quick responses!
