Forum Seems Way More Reliable Lately

Post by WagonMaster »

Rob,

Wow :!: I don't know what you (or your ISP) might have done lately (if anything) to affect the JP1 forum's operation, but in (I'm guessing) maybe the last 2 days (maybe longer), the forum seems much more robust and reliable. I'm not having to reload aborted pages so often. Even more importantly, I seem to be able to download files that are even a few hundred KB in size over a dial-up connection -- something that's been incredibly difficult or downright impossible for a long time now, especially with the fact that almost all aborted downloads never resume from the point of abort.

I hope I'm not jinxing myself by commenting, but I sure am happy to see how things have been running lately! :) :) :)

Responding to my own post here, as an update.

I was actually able to download a 3.7MB file with no problems over a dial-up connection! The forum is clearly different for the better!!! I cannot recall the last time I was able to successfully download anything even close to that size from this forum.

I thought so too for a while, but it is still very variable for me. Right now it flies. Yesterday - over a minute to switch from place to place :(
