I hope someone can help. I'm a complete newbie to all this remote programming stuff.
I just got the jp1 cable and was just getting to learning from the OEM remote. When learning I got the error "mem fault" and could not get past it. So, I figured I do the default reset they mention in the manual. Doing that didn't work either. The manual stated I should get "reset ram" and "reset e2" when the reset works, but I get "reset ram" and "BAD e2".
Anyone know where to go from here? I have no idea how serious this is or how to proceed. I do plan to call OFA support, but I don't think they'll be able to help much since I don't think the modem in my remote functions, which is why I got the jp1 cable in the first place.
Thanks a lot! |

I had the same error when I first got my 8910. For some reason, my IR file was corrupted. You will need to do a "MFR RESET". Here are the instructions, from the following thread:
http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/mboard/rc-one4all/thread.cgi?2448
1) Hold SETUP, till screen reads "CODE SET"
2) Press RECORD
3) Select MFR RESET from the LCD menu.
Good luck |

thanks, I hope it's that easy. I was really looking forward to getting into the thick of things last night when this happened and I was stopped dead in my tracks. I'll try the MFR reset tonight and see what happens. |
