|
|
So I have a 6131n that I was wondering if I can hard code the A/V selection buttons without the JP1 cable to do the following....
Cable:
- Selects HDMI 1
- Has master Volume control
- will be able to control my Motorola DCH6200
I would also like to program master volume for all my components, is that possible with doing the upgrade and modifications? _________________ Treat everyday like a dog:

If by A/V Selection buttons you mean the TV,PVR,DVD,CBL,AUD and VCR buttons.these buttons are restricted. Without a cable the onlly thing you can do with these buttons is assign the 4 digit setup codes.
Quote: | Cable:
- Selects HDMI 1 |
So the CBL button will not be able to automatically select HDMI, you would need to press a different button to do this selection.
Quote: | Has master Volume control |
If by Master Volume control, you mean have the volume always control one device in all modes, that would be the volume lock. Yes you can do a volume lock without a cable.
CHANGING VOLUME LOCK
The One For All 6-Device PVR Universal Remote
Control is set at the factory for independent volume
control of each selected device.
However, you may change the Volume Lock setting to
Global Volume Lock so that a device’s volume will be
locked to one mode (e.g., to control TV volume in all
other modes). After that, if desired, you can perform
Individual Volume Unlock on a selected device to set its
volume control for independent operation.
Locking Volume Control To One Mode
(Global Volume Lock)
1. Press and hold SET until the LED (red light)
blinks twice, then release SET.
2. Enter 9 - 9 - 3 and then press any
mode key once (e.g., TV).The LED will
blink twice.
3. Now,when you press VOL+, VOL-, or Mute,
the volume of the selected device (e.g., TV)
will be controlled regardless of the mode
you have selected.
Unlocking Volume Control For A Single Device
(Individual Volume Unlock)
1. After performing Global Volume Lock (see
above),press a desired mode key where
you want volume to be unlocked (e.g.,
AUD) and controlled within its own mode.
2. Press and and hold SET until the LED (red
light) blinks twice, then release SET.
3. Enter 9 - 9 - 3 and then press VOL- once.
The LED will blink four times.
4. If desired, repeat steps 1 through 3
(of this section) for each device that you
want volume to be unlocked.
5. Now, after you select a device that has
volume unlocked (e.g., AUD), pressing
VOL+, VOL-, or Mute, will control the
device’s volume only in its own mode.
Unlocking All Volume Control (Restoring
Default Setting)
NOTE: Performing these instructions will restore independent
volume control for all programmed devices (e.g., TV volume
control in TV mode,VCR volume in VCR mode, etc.).
1. On the remote control, press and hold SET
until the LED (red light) blinks twice, then
release SET.
2. Enter 9 - 9 - 3 and then press VOL+ once.
The LED will blink four times.
3. Volume will again be independently
controlled according to its default states
for all programmed devices.
Quote: | will be able to control my Motorola DCH6200 |
Sometimes you can use keymoves against an existing device to control equipment when there is no built in upgrade in the remote, without a cable. If you find a device upgrade for the Motorola DCH6200, use the Devices.xls to see if there are any setups that use the same PID and the same fixed data. If so, you can do keymoves against this device to control your Motorola DC6200 without needing a cable. |

You can also send it to OFA for an upgrade. Request a device code that's not in the remote, and they'll return it with the jp pins and EPROM installed. _________________ I used to have 5 remotes that controlled one thing each. Now I have 6 remotes that each control everything! |

They no longer manufacture this remote, so rather than "upgrade" it (which they never really did, they just threw it out and sent you one from a small batch they had laying around with the EEPROM pre-installed - a small 1K EEPROM, at that!), they are more likely to replace it with a newer model remote, like an 8820. _________________ Beginners - Read this thread first

Get an Atlas. Then you can put macros on device keys without an extender... |

Yeah just pulled the trigger on two Atlas 1056 backlit from ebay. Hopefully I will have those in a few days and then can place an order for one of tommy's JP1.2/3 cables. _________________ Treat everyday like a dog:
