So today I went to my local Charter shop to exchange my old Atlas XL in hopes of getting a C4000/S4000 remote to program and play with. Instead I got something that looks similar. After looking around it is a UR4U-MDVR-CHD2.
I was able to google it and found the model on UEI's website (http://www.universalremote.com/product_detail.php?model=120) and low and behold there is Programming software!!!! I have downloaded it and I am currently playing with it on my Win7 machine right now. However I cannot tell if it is a JP1 style remote. It has a "similar" connector but only has 4 pins in a line. I will take some pictures and post them in a minutes.
Has anyone else received/played with this remote? _________________ Treat everyday like a dog:

That's not UEI's website, that is Universal Remote Control, Incs website. These are not UEI remotes.
See this topic
I like the atlas remotes and the comcast remotes from UEI, as I think they are much nicer than the RatShack remotes. If the cable companies are switching to URC this will make it even harder to find a good JP1 remote. |

This is NOT a UEIC-manufactured remote. It is manufactured by URC, a totally different company. Therefore it is NOT a JP1 remote.
I do not doubt its programmability, but you're unlikely to find a lot of knowledge and/or interest about it in these fora.
URC-manufactured remotes have occasionally been discussed here, but not extensively. _________________ Beginners - Read this thread first

Thanks guys. I see that now. So disappointed?!
Guess I will be looking into getting another 6131n with some modding tools soon. _________________ Treat everyday like a dog:
