If you have a new remote that isn't recognized by RMIR, post the details here so we can help create a new RDF for it. Or, if there is an issue with an existing RDF or map, this is the place.

10711071 URC-39890 B00 (Multichoice SD PVR RCU)

Hey Guys,

This is a remote made by UEI supplied with the multichoice SD PVR which is manufactured by UEC which is a local company based in South Africa.

Images, Manual and IR download file.

The SD PVR has been discontinued as has this remote control but there are still a few hundred thousand around.

This remote has been replaced by the newer HD PVR Remote that has been discussed in this thread.

The main physical difference to note is in the dial that you turn to choose which device you want to control.

The dial on the SD PVR Remote is as follows:
1a, 1b, 1c, 1d, 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, X, Y, Z

All the 1s and 2s are used to control the SD PVR and X, Y and Z are used to program in universal devices.

The manual lists all the devices and codes available.

If there is anything else that I forgot to mention then please let me know.

PS: I used the USB JP1.2/3 cable by Tommy to download the IR file and everything seemed to work perfectly.
My question is that on the circuit board, next to the JP1 pins, it says JP1.1 but how come this cable works because I thaught this cable couldn't be used with JP1.1?

The signature for this remote is 10711071, which tends to imply that it's really a JP1.2 (HCS08) remote, so the PCB label is incorrect.
