I am slowly working towards getting all my devices working via JP1 and have two devices left - Smile

So far most things have worked okay (The URC 7780 is useless at learning and importing into IR - the URC-7556 makes the job so much easier)... However my Philips DVD Recorder (DVR 3380) is driving me nuts.

Using Decode IR I can see that the details are as follows (for the button "2"):

Protocol : RC6
Device : 48
Sub Device : n/a
OBC : 2
Hex : 02
EFC : 034
Misc : T=0

but the next time you learn

Protocol : RC6
Device : 48
Sub Device : n/a
OBC : 2
Hex : 02
EFC : 034
Misc : T=1

This seams to result in the programmed remote not working properly - if you press a button you have to press another button before it works again - i.e. "222" would only result in the DVD player seeing "2", but "242" sees the lot.

I'm guessing it's something to do with the "Misc : T=0/1" toggling, but how do I tell "Remote Master" that it needs to do this?

If you are testing the learned buttons, your results are exactly what we would expect, but you shouldn't get those results if you are using an upgrade.

The "Misc : T=1" thing is the toggle bit that's present in all Philips protocols (ie, RC5, RC6, etc).

Looks like it was the DVD Recorder playing silly buggers - rebooted it and it works fine - possibly got confudled when I was pressing some of the learned buttons Rolling Eyes

Am I correct in assuming from your comment anything using the RC-6 protocol sorts the toggle bits automatically?

Yes, the RC5 and RC6 upgrades work the toggle properly.

You should be able to find ready-made upgrades for Philips DVDR's in in this file and/or in the many similar ones in the File Section. Just learn and add any missing buttons. If you find any specific to your machine then post the upgrade for others to use.
