I have uploaded a zip file that contains a Yamaha receiver RMDU upgrade, a Pansat 2800 Satellite receiver RMDU upgrade, and my current IR file.

http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=5737

Both upgrades use the Nec 1 protocol with different device codes.

The Yamaha receiver interferes with the FTA receiver in the following ways, and there may be more that I haven't discovered.

The Yamaha volume controls control the following functions on the Pansat randomly: Attempts to change channels (just sends 0's), brings up program info, and opens the selection where you choose AC3 Dolby Digital, analog, or SAP. That selection is mapped to the sleep key.

Everything works correctly in both upgrades, except for the interference issue.

As usual, thanks for reading this and I hope you experts will be able to help me.

One last thing, the Yamaha replaced an insignia AV receiver which was a Nec 1 protocol, and produced the same interference.

Thank you, Jack

Do the OEM remotes cause the same interference? Assuming that they do, there's really not much we can do to help you. This is a fault of the devices themselves for either (a) not being picky enough about what they respond to or (b) using a signal that is already in use.

Yes Robman the OEM Yamaha remote does the same thing, but worse. Thanks for the reply. Guess I'll have to learn to live with it.

Thanks, Jack

I'd see if you can modify the code one responds to, likely the satellite receiver. If you are into microhardware, you could build some translator.
