Samsung 5054 changing source

Post by japapoe »

I have a Samsung 5054 and a comcast 1067a remote (i believe that's the right number). Anyway, is there a way to go directly to a source on my samsung tv without having to hit the source button mulitple times?

Maybe. My older (2001) Samsung TV doesn't have this capability, but many of the Samsung upgrades in the file section have discretes for the sources.

You can check out the various Samsung Upgrades in the file section and see if any of the discretes work, by sending the EFC directly. I believe this remote uses 5digit EFC's, so you'll need to pad 3 digit EFCs with 00EFC. If you find the correct EFC, you can set up a keymoves to have direct acess to the functions.

There are numerous Samsung upgrades that will likely contain the right command to select "discrete" inputs on your samsung.

The only issue that I found with the stupid things is that the TV ignores remote commands while it's getting going so you may have to put some serious delays in the macros that select stuff. (bummer)

They really need "discrete on and set this input" like my old RCA and Proscan TV's had. That was cool.
this JP1 stuff is a sickness!
