It must be my computer

Post by vickyg2003 »

I haven't been able to read the boards all weekend, and I thought the boards were down. Now I popped in from work, and I see that other people have been posting all weekend.

What should I check on my machine?

Sometime on Saturday I just started getting symptoms like I was typing in a bad URL, or a timeout issue. I was only having difficulty with your site. I was also getting this on the main page http://www.hifi-remote.com/ofa/, so I assumed it wasn't just a database issue, since I can usually get to that page, even if you are having database issues.

I thought your host was down. When I came into work it was back up, I thought "Ah Rob's been able to reach tech support", then I saw the date/timestamps on all those posts from Sunday so I realize its just my computer connecting to this site that's the issue.

Sorry, I don't have any idea what's up. Try it again this evening when you get home.

Performance on the boards seems to be much better now so I'm guessing rob finally did get the move done. If thats the case it may have just been an issue with your DNS server not pointing to the new address yet.

"not pointing to the new address yet."

What new address?
I didn't change anything, and mine is OK now....

Nothing has moved yet, so the DNS hasn't changed.

If the server move hasn't happened yet then it was probably just weird internet stuffs.
