I am having trouble with erratic operation. and wold like to hear what an experienced user thinks about it, is the device faulty or can it be something else? If the device is at fault I can have it replaced at no cost, otherwise i don't know what to do:

Remote URC 7950:
It happens only when the remote is in SAT mode. When, for example I push the DOWN button, the tuner shows one page of the channel list. But on the next, of maybe one of the subsequent DOWN pushes - instead of moving the 'cursor' down in the list, the tv switches to analog instead of EXT# input, and the remote also reverts to TV mode.

I actually have programmed that function with a macro on the A/V button. The macro selects TV mode on the remote, then selects analog input on the TV.

The same problem also occurs with a few other buttons but not as often.

I don't expect s definite answer but would appreciate an educated guess or something like that.

It sounds like either a corrupt macro or a corrupt upgrade. If you post the specs of the device and a copy of the ir file we may be able to figure it out.

A zip file wit three files - the one named 7950-7020-LE37R87.ir is the one.

http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=5335

But I am afraid I don't quite get what you mean by 'specs of the device'.

I'll gladly supply all info that I can, if I know what is needed.

What I meant was what is the brand and model of the device you are trying to control.

I looked through the files and noticed that the learned signals for the sat device were mixed which may be part of the problem. My guess is the SAT device may not be correctly supported by the remote.

I would suggest downloading a couple of the SAT upgrades in the file area and see iif that helps. Note that the upgrades may also include protocols so make sure you install them also.

Hi,

I have a very similar problem with the same remote - without any macros. And several other owners of this remote report about the same at vdr-portal.

See here for more.
