Proceed AVP

I have an 8910 remote. I have learned about 11 keys with the remote that I want to transfer back to the remote as a device upgrade to save memory. I have upload the file from the remote to JP1 version 7.09. I look into the "Learned Signals" tab to see the data and the info is: Protocol=Denon, device=8, OBC=0, Hex Cmd=00, & EFC=018.

The data is the same for every one of the 11 keys.

However, when you edit one of the learned function the data displayed in the window is different. To create a new device upgrade I will need the correct data to enter in RM's functions window. Is there a work-around for this?

I know the learned data being downloaded from the remote is good as I can upload different data to the remote then upload the saved learned functions back to the remote and the remote works fine with the device.

The device I am trying to create is a Proceed AVP surround sound processor. Not sure if that makes a difference or not. I have repeated the process twice with the exact same results.

These signals have 4 burst pairs, 2 for the fixed portion and another 2 for the variable portion. The format does seem familiar, so it may match an existing protocol.

Hi Rob, I was real glad to see your post on this.

This had caught my interest enough to try to break down the signal. I've wanted to learn how to do this for a long time, but reading wasn't enough to get it into my thick head. So I pulled out the "How to use Protocol Builder" and started to get my hands dirty. I'd been rounding all the signals to the nearest 100, but that wasn't enough to get me 1's and zero's. I was wondering what kind of rounding I was going to have to do. I popped in here, and see that some signals use 4 burst pairs.

I'll be real interested in any explainations of what you do with 4 burst pairs.

Usually, you have to format the signal manually (using assembler) but something about this signal rings a bell as I think I've seen it before (or at least something very similar) and I think there was a way to do it using the IR engine. However, it would take some searching to find the old posts, which I can't do right now.

Sorry I didn't get back with you sooner. I have been out with the flu—not pretty. The upgrade you generated works perfect! I am pretty new at this and your decode was a big help!
