Is a week long enough to hang my head in shame for this embarassment ?
Or is there some other appropriate penance ? |

No need for any shame here, we all do our share, be it ordering some paint or posting answers to peoples questions.
Besides it's not like I've solved world hunger, hek, I haven't even solved the problem of painting buttons on a remote yet, only ordered something we think might work |

So I got that parasol product varikote - dont' worry, I only paid shipping for samples
It didn't work - granted I was a little tough w/ my testing, vigorously rubbing the painted buttons, but it came right off
Next stop - colored press type - red 'R', blue 'B' etc |

So anyone ever make any progress here? I tried coloring them in with Sharpies to an interesting result. At first it seemed like it wasn't working well - it rubbed right off. Then a couple of weeks later, I noticed that the button I colored red and not wiped off was now DYED red - the ink soaked into the rubber and made a perfect red button. Unfortunately I tried to repeat this with the other colors and they did not soak in...

[EDIT] Hmm... Maybe this?

I tried cyanoacrylate (superglue) and colored marker pen. Partial result - not good enough to see well but has stained the red and green buttons a bit and won't come completely off. Shame that I colored the wrong buttons by mistake (meant to do the 2nd-from bottom row - L1, 2 etc.) but did the bottom row instead.) |
