Need help to decode a learned button

Post by xintol »

Hi All, I am a noob in JP1. What I am trying to do is to learn a button"EXIT" and update the code for the EXIT botton. Please give me a hint where to start.

1. Device: Pansat 250SM
2. Type of device: FTA satellite Receiver
3. Year: 2007
4. JP1/UEI Remote model: URC-9910
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? Yes
6. Still have original remote? Yes
7. Checked the file section? Yes
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? Yes
9. Partially working setup code? Yes
10. Learning remote question? I learn the "EXIT" from the org remote, and use IR to decode it. The code is 3F. But the code 3F means VOL-.

Where did I go wrong. Please advise.
Thank you.

Not enough info.

What do you get when you decode the learn of Vol-?
What do you get when you learn "exit"?

Not just the hex, but everything that is decoded (Protocol, Device Subdevice, OBC, other stuff.)

If they are identical, you're not learning the exit button, or the exit button is the same as the Vol- button on your OEM remote.

If still stumped, post your IR file with the learned signals in the diagnosis area and provide a link to it here.

Here is what I get from learn code.

Protocol sub-device OBC Hex CMD EFC
NEC1 "blank" 3 3F 187 EXIT
NEC1 "blank" 20 D7 116 VOL-

Data for EXIT
25 60 18 00 D4 83 24 25 55 45 55 54 44 54 44 44
45 55 55 55 54 44 44 41 30 82 30

Data for VOL-
27 60 18 00 D4 83 24 25 55 45 55 54 44 54 44 45
54 54 55 54 45 45 44 41 30 82 30

This is base on the Pansat 2500 model. I am trying to modify a few buttons that didn't work for the 250SM model.

Here is the info from Key Master and Remote Master.

Protocol Name: NEC1
Main Device: 0
Sub Device: 249

Protocol ID: 00 5A
Fixed Data: 00 FF 60

Frequency: 38.1KHz

Since I am base this on the 2500 model. I think the Main Device and Sub Device data is wrong, Is this data matter :?:

You're doing something wrong since clearly hex 3F is NOT the Vol- code (D7 is.)

Upload (the entire file to the diagnosis area) the IR file with your learned signals;
Upload the KM or RM upgrade file you are using;
Upload the IR file with the upgrde entered that is not behaving properly.

Post links to all of them here.

Here is the link for the .ir file I am using.

I didn't use KM or RM to modify the data. I edit the data in the IR.

The two learned data signals you posted both show Main Device=8 and a SubDevice=Blank. You seemed to have left out the Device column.

When filling out the forms in KM/RM, main device and sub device are very important.

The main device is 0
The sub device is 249

This is base on the 2500 model.

Can you download my .ir file from the Diagnosis area from the link above. I try to down load it and get a link error.

You have two sets of learned signals. One has main device=0 subdevice=249 and the other device has main device=8 and subdevice=blank. The easiest is probably to create a small device upgrade for main device=8 and then use keymoves to use the small upgrade for the few keys you need. Even though the two upgrades may include the same OBC numbers for functions, they are different because of the main device/subdevice numbers.
