Alternate Parts For Serial Interface Cable

I'm building a new serial interface cable using Tommy Tylers instructions (Version 1.0 12/6/03). Two of the part numbers are no longer available from Mouser:

6-pin IDC connector 649-71602-306
Transistor, 2N3904 or any NPN type (Q1) 511-2N3904

I'm sure Mouser has equivalent parts, but I don't want to buy the wrong one. Can someone identify the correct part numbers? Thanks in advance..

Mouser part number 649-71602-306 has been replaced by 649-71600-006LF. Substitute 610-2N3904 for 511-2N3904.

Nearly any NPN signal trasnistor will work. I just yank parts from spare PCBs.
