Changing the RDF did the trick and now the extender and the backlight work great!!!

One last item...
It appears that with the extender, the P8 now synchs its clock with my PC when I upload. Is this another feature of the extender?

I've installed your new protocol Jason and after a week my remote isn't crashing or losing time my remote is the urc 8781.Great work now I just have to show my wife how to use it,wish me luck.Thanks Darryl P.S. I also
had a problem with the light but all I did was turn on the backlight before
starting the extender. |

It's a feature of the RDF that comes with the extender. The same functionality is in the 1.11 format RDf's (the RDF's that are used with IR >= 3.50) if you don't use the extender. |

Thanks for testing the new extender and good luck showing your wife how to use it. I think I know the answer, but there's no chance that you're using a device > 50 bytes (you'd see a red warning in KM if you were). |
