1. Device: Philips DVDR3505/37
2. Type of device: DVD Recorder\Player
3. Year: 2007
4. JP1/UEI Remote model: 8910
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? Yes
6. Still have original remote? Yes
7. Checked the file section? Yes
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? Yes
9. Partially working setup code? No
10. Learning remote question? No
I have learned about 15 keys, and they make absolutely no sense to me. Maybe some are bad learns. Here is a link to my IR file.

What are you seeing that doesn't make sense? _________________ Mark |

There is nothing wrong with the learned signals, including DVD:4 and DVD:8.
There is a minor flaw in DecodeIr.dll that I ought to find and fix: The correct RC6 decode should have supressed the spurious Async decode, but didn't.
DecodeIr supports a lot of weak IR protocols, for which there is no good way to distinguish a true example from something that just happens to look like an example. In general, DecodeIr will continue to give spurious decodes of weak protocols expecting users to learn to ignore them. But in particular cases it is practical to supress them and I try to do so.
I'm also wondering what Jack doesn't like about these decodes. They're not only good clean learns correctly decoded, but also exactly the signals you would expect for a Philips DVDR.
In my collection of downloaded JP1 upgrades, I see four that match Jack's signals:
Magnavox MDV-630R_MDV-650R.txt
Philips_DVDR80.txt
Philips_DVDR985_DVD_8910.txt
Philips_DVDR985_DVD_recorder.txt
In my collection of downloaded CCF files, I see three that match:
fabrice-laine_ccf.zip
claudio-santulli_pro.zip
but the third might be just an obsolete version of the second (anyway it has the same author and it's original URL is no longer valid).
In the devices.xls file, suprisingly, I see just DVD/0646 matching. You'd expect to see a few similar setup codes to cover the minor differences among many (I assume) models with the same basic code set. |

Thanks a million, Jack |
