Extender-1 for URC-6131n 2K really 2K?
I could not help but notice the current extender-1 program for the URC-6131n 2K does not show the same amount of free memory as the unextended version of the ir.exe program. It is supposed to support the 2K mod which I have done. Is the memory really usable in the extender program or is this just an error of the extender-1 program. I have yet to fill the memory I have to test the extender-1 program for the URC-6131n with 2K. Why doesn't the IR.EXE program display all available memory with the extender-1 option like the unextended 2K version? Does any one out there have a clue....

Which memory bank are you talking about? The unextended 6131 will have alot more upgrade memory than the extended version, but it will have less keymove/macro memory. Remember also that the default IR file that comes with the extender has some macros and upgrades pre-installed, so some of the available memory is already used.
Unextended 6131:
keymove/macro = 225 bytes
upgrade = 1789 bytes
Extended 6131:
keymove/macro = 897 bytes (868 free)
upgrade = 768 bytes (498 free)
Unextended 6131:
keymove/macro = 225 bytes
upgrade = 1789 bytes
Extended 6131:
keymove/macro = 897 bytes (868 free)
upgrade = 768 bytes (498 free)

Extender Reveiled
Thanks Robman,
I see you are gaining more Macro Room and losing some upgrade space. I was comparing it to a stock 6131n with no non-factory codes installed. That gave me an unrealistic comparison. Right now I have 847 free macro space and 389 free upgrade space in an extended 6131n 2K with 3 custom devices installed including all of the extender extras. I guess that is pretty good.

Look at these two entries from the RDF...
unextended...
AdvCodeAddr=$01E..$0FF
UpgradeAddr=$100..$7FD
extended...
AdvCodeAddr=$400..$781
UpgradeAddr=$100..$3FF
The URC-6131 was only designed to use a 1k EEPROM chip, but when we modifiy them we install 2k chips. As the upgrade area knows no bounds as far as an 'end of range' goes, we're able to make the upgrade area extend into the additional 1k of memory in the un-extended remote.
For the extended version of the 6131, the old keymove area is abandoned and the old upgrade area is divided into three parts...
a) the new keymove area
b) the new upgrade area, and
c) the extender code itself (which I assume starts at $782).
Just FYI, the new upgrade area is the same size as the regular upgrade area in most JP1 remotes, including the 1k version of the URC-6131.
