Source for LCD used in 8910?

Post by xnappo »

Hello all,

I have a bad habit of dropping my HTPro (like the 8910/9910) on the hardwood and cracking the LCD (plus my 3 year old and cat have the same habit). I have a supply of backup remotes back from some fire sales, but my supply is running short. I could just buy a couple of 8910s - but does anyone know a compatible LCD part orderable for Future or some such?

Thanks,

Sorry, but no, this is a custom part made to order for UEI by their vendors in China. The only way you'll get spares is from other remotes.

Maybe you can keep your eye out for some of the old "donut" versions that pop on ebay and see if you can get them cheap.

Alternatively, you could switch to a non-LCD remote! :)

Thanks Rob. Looks like I'll be looking for one on EBay. I would switch to the 8811 - but I hate the paint job too much :) The HTPro is much nicer. Still no decent backlit JP1.2/1.3 remotes either...

Or just use them as non LCD remotes.
